Our Anniversary

Today is our anniversary. One whole year together, and not just together, but living together; I consider this quite a feat.

This afternoon, after work, I will make my way home and sit on our Ikea couch watching “Desperate Housewives” while dipping my fat-free potato chips into my fat-free cottage cheese. It’s not as gross as it sounds. It’s actually quite a tasty combination.

After fulfilling my need for scandal and drama, I will prepare for our night out; paint my nails, get dressed, clean up the house a bit, place his present strategically on the table, where I know he will only look once. I will light candles and wait for him to walk through the door. It’s been a whole year and I haven’t gotten bored yet. That is quite a feat.

We will dine out, see a movie, relax and enjoy each others company. We will celebrate that we are still foreseeing ourselves together in the future. We will laugh and pick on each other and be immature, but that is only because we must be mature for a minimum eight hours a day.

I will tell him I love him and he will reciprocate. We will make new memories which are destined to outshine the rest.
