Breaking Boys 19
"There was the boy who came from a family opposite of my own; they were blunt, honest and true to themselves. It was in his family room that we would sit, the three of us, and try to think up things to do. We would almost always end up sitting in these positions for the entire night, watching this boy’s television. He was the boy I laughed with, was silly with, got bored with, and never felt alone with. He was the boy who would tell me I was "hot", even though I was no longer skinny and beautiful. He was the boy who would tell me he missed me and tell me that I was mean in the same sentence. He was the boy who, on one ordinary night, almost got kissed. But he was the boy who made me realize that risking it all for one try wasn’t a gamble that needed to be taken. He was one of only a few boys who were worth so much to me, that I never sought their affections, even at my weakest"
